A recent article from ESPN does not bode well for BYU. Obviously, it states that the Big 12-2 is very happy with their round-robin set up. Other than the myopic athletic directors, who cares? They have about as much vision for the conference as Mr. Magoo. Being that they are the only conference in the power five that does not have a conference championship game, it would least behoove them to think about expansion but no, the feeble-minded execs of the Big 12 do not have one modicum of intelligence to look into the future and see that conference championship games will count for a lot when deciding the seeding in the four-team playoff format. BYU is on the outside looking in and their only option right now is to stand pat as an independent or kiss and make up with the Mountain West or maybe knock on the door of the American Athletic Conference. I cannot ask this enough; is the Big 12 stupid or what? They are really idiotic for not at least considering BYU as a possible choice. BYU has the resources to increase the revenue of the Big 12. In the end, it is all about Texas keeping the Big 12 small and manageable. When their grant of rights expires, maybe sooner than later, we as fans can officially write the epitaph of the Big 12.
